Laboratory and workshop visit in Espoo
The workshop and laboratory visit to Aalto and GTK laboratories was held on 9th and 10th April 2026 in Espoo. In this visit researcher partners from Kuopio, Oulu and Helsinki got together to visit the Geotechnical engineering, concrete technology and rock mechanics laboratory facilities on the first day and got hands on experience on the preparations of the fresh mortar and low CO2 emission concrete-like material in laboratory, the workshop also held discussions panel where the topics and issues regarding using the side streams in cementitious material was discussed.
On second day of the workshop, the consortium partners visited the GTK laboratory facilities in Espoo and advanced instrumentation used in characterization of clay sample such as SEM-EDS, XRD, mass spectrometry, geochronology, tomography, and micro-XRF were showcased.
